Our next featured wedding took place in January of 2018 at one of our favorite venues, Bella Collina. Katie and James shared a romantic ceremony and reception with wine-inspired elements, from a wine ceremony to a wine cork board for the seating assignments. We’d love to share all of their fun details with you, courtesy of Jeremy Scott Photography!
Katie and James began their big day at the Mission Inn Resort. Katie’s hair and makeup was done beautifully by Michele Renee The Studio. She wore a gorgeous cascading gown with lace details and sheer back. Meanwhile, James started his day in a fun “Best. Groom. Ever.” tank top and transitioned into his classy tuxedo and bow tie.
Katie and James chose to have a first look photo shoot, meeting each other by the beautiful reflection pool at Bella Collina. They captured their love, excitement, and fun personalities in the photos shown above. They then met with their wedding party and caught a few pictures with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, while showing off their beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres from Lee Forrest Design.
The ceremony took place in the atrium, in front of the fountain. We love the simplicity and beauty of this spot: it has the intimacy of an indoor venue and the natural light of an outdoor venue. As the guests entered, they were treated to the music of guitarist Joe Braccio.
Soon the ceremony began, and Katie walked down the aisle to join James. The two were all smiles as they read their own vows to one another. We love when couples find a way to incorporate their wedding theme into the ceremony, like in this case, when they included a wine ceremony. Two of their parents poured wine into the same glass, which the couple then shared. Once all the formalities had been completed, the officiant, Glynn Ferguson from Sensational Ceremonies, declared them husband and wife! Katie and James danced out, and guests made their way to cocktail hour.
As the guests enjoyed cocktails, the reception space was prepared. It had a cozy, romantic feel, with every table decked in red and white roses and glowing candles. The wine-inspired details definitely came into play with the table assignments; each table was named after a type of wine, and the seating chart itself was posted on a cork board made of actual wine corks. We also loved this wine-inspired detail: rather than have a conventional guestbook, Katie and James asked their guests to sign wine corks!
The reception was a delight. Katie and James shared their first dance in the courtyard, then moved inside to enjoy the buffet provided by Bella Collina. As the night went on, they cut their gorgeous cake from Party Flavors Custom Cakes, shared dances with their parents, and found time to capture a couple of intimate moments. Of course, they made sure to get a photo with a glass of wine in the wine cellar, a moment that summed their wedding up nicely.
Congratulations to Katie and James, and thank you for choosing us to be a part of your big day! Thank you to all the fantastic venues and vendors involved:
