In September of 2016, we joined Alon and Joey for their lovely rustic chic wedding at the Mission Inn Resort on an unexpectedly rainy day. Despite the rain, it was a beautiful day for the two, who embraced the change of plans and didn’t let anything take away from their joy. Much thanks to Lora Rodgers Photography for sharing these photos with us so we can share them with you!
Alon got ready with her three bridesmaids, each with her own mimosa. Hair and make up was done by Kristy’s Artistry Design Team. The bride wore Liliana shoes and a beautiful dress from Calvet Couture Boutique. The bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets of white and green were arranged by Flowers by Lesley.
Meanwhile, the gentlemen got ready together, wearing grey suits with white bowties and pinning on their white boutonnieres from Flowers by Lesley. The two ring bearers were dressed in newsboy caps and suspenders. With the rain starting, the wedding party met for a quick photo shoot, capturing their smiles before the downpour.
Due to the rain, the ceremony was moved inside, but was set up just as beautifully. The rain actually provided a perfect backdrop with the full-length windows behind the arbor. The bride and groom decided to include a wine bottle ceremony, placing letters for each other to be opened on their one year anniversary in a box with a bottle of wine. The two exchanged rings, the officiant Lon Tosi declared them husband and wife, and Alon and Joey shared their first kiss as a married couple!
To avoid the rain, the bride and groom got quick family photos under cover, then took a large umbrella around the grounds for their post-ceremony photo shoot. The rain and umbrella led to some creative and unique photos for the couple, whose smiles couldn’t be wiped by any amount of precipitation.
The reception space was then transformed for dinner, with the seating assignments painted onto a window-like sign. The centerpieces were boxes with the burned-on initials of the bride and groom, and each table had a burlap runner. Each guest received a favor of a s’mores kit that read “Sending you s’more love”. The room was full of white roses, glowing candles, and lace, creating a lovely rustic chic look.
The reception began with the introduction of Alon and Joey as husband and wife, who then shared their first dance as a married couple. There were then father-daughter and mother-son dances, followed by toasts led by the Father of the Bride and the Maid of Honor. The buffet dinner was then served, catered by Mission Inn. The photo booth provided by Just for You Photo Booths was also opened, with lots of fun props for guests to use.
After enjoying the delicious dinner, Alon and Joey cut their cake. Along with the cake, the dessert buffet table was covered in mini cupcakes of different flavors, all provided by B Cupcakes.
With dinner eaten and the cake cut, it was time for open dancing! The night was led by the Leonard Brothers Band, a highly talented group of musicians. Between dancing, the bride tossed her bouquet, which was eagerly caught by one of her bridesmaids. As the night drew to a close, the guests gathered for a sparkler exit for their bride and groom.
