Our next blog feature is one of our absolute favorites! In January of 2019, we joined Janice and Patrick for a colorful and beautiful wedding at the Orlando Museum of Art. The day was full of colors, fun, and Florida. Each table was named after a city in Florida, and oranges (both the color and the fruit) could be found everywhere! We absolutely loved this wedding, and are so happy to share the fantastic photos from Concept Photography with you!
The day began at the Doubletree Downtown. Janice had her hair and makeup done by a friend, then was helped into her gorgeous dress by her bridesmaids. We loved the unique look of her gown, with an embellished v-neck top and floaty skirt. Before leaving, the girls received their bouquets from Flowers by Lesley, blooming arrangements of orange and pink.
Meanwhile, the gentlemen got ready together in their own fun orange garb. The groomsmen wore orange and black striped suspenders, while Patrick wore a similar tie and pair of socks. We loved all the fun orange accents they brought to this wedding!
Once they were all dressed up and ready to go, Janice and Patrick met in a hallway of the art museum for their first look photo shoot. As first looks go, this one was a tearjerker; you can’t look at those pictures and not see the love these two share. Janice and Patrick then journeyed around the gallery with their photographer, capturing lots of artistic shots. They then called over their wedding party to join them for a series of fun photos before the ceremony.
As it was a very rainy day, the ceremony took place inside, with an absolutely gorgeous and artistic setup. We loved the flower arrangements set simply in front of a piece of art, with a large Chihuly glass piece serving as a centerpiece to the event. Even the water featured oranges, and the guestbook became a fun offer to either take an instant photo or “scribble a note” in a notepad.
The ceremony began, and Janice was walked down the aisle by her mother. She met Patrick there, and they were led through the ceremony, exchanging vows, rings, and their first kiss. Following the ceremony, our happy couple captured a couple more pictures around the museum, finding infinite possible locations for cool photos.
The reception was full of more fun, orange, and Florida. Each table was named after a city in Florida, with fun retro-looking postcards serving as table cards. Each place setting held a favor, a colorful Mexican-style tile. To add to the fun and unique vibes of their wedding, Janice and Patrick chose to serve donuts instead of a cake. The donuts, from Donut King, were arranged into a beautiful display, with more oranges and flowers from Flowers by Lesley.
The reception began with Janice and Patrick entering to a standing ovation. They shared a first dance together, then each shared a dance with their mother. This was followed by a series of toasts, and soon enough, dinner by Arthur’s Catering was served! This was also when the caricature artist from Cartoon You began his work, and started, of course, with a fantastic caricature of the groom and bride.
As the night continued, Janice and Patrick cut the donut cake, guests enjoyed their caricatures, and the bouquet and garter were tossed. We loved that the recipient of the garter, rather than placing it on a lady’s leg, had his lady place it on his leg. It was a fun twist in a night of fun twists!
The night ended with the bride and groom’s grand exit, through a wave of noisemakers, toys, and party horns.
Congratulations and much love to Janice and Patrick, we are so grateful to have been a part of your bright day! Thank you to all the vendors that made this day a ray of sunshine on a rainy day:
