Our next blog post brings us to February of 2018 at the Capen House in Winter Park, Florida. Our bride and groom, Grace and Bryan, chose to have an outdoor ceremony and reception in the beautiful February Florida weather. We loved their color scheme of burgundy and white, and how they incorporated their personality into some fun details. Thanks to Rudy and Marta Photography for sharing these photos with us, so we can share them with you!
Grace and Bryan began their day at the Alfond Inn in Winter Park. Grace and her bridesmaids had hair and makeup done beautifully by Laura Reynolds Artistry. Her bridesmaids wore burgundy dresses of different styles chosen by them, while Grace wore a lacy gown with long sleeves. Meanwhile, Bryan and his groomsmen got dressed in classy suits and burgundy ties. The groomsmen wore neck ties and Bryan wore a bow tie, a subtle difference. We loved the touch of personality in their socks: each groomsmen wore socks featuring the symbol of a different superhero.
Grace and Bryan met up before the ceremony to do a first look photo shoot. We loved that they chose to meet at the docks, using the lake as a beautiful backdrop. They then captured a quick moment with their wedding party before the guests started to arrive.
As guests arrived, they were greeted by a rustic wooden Welcome sign, and were asked to sign the guestbook. They then made their way to their seats. At the front of the seating area was a beautiful tribute “In Loving Memory” for Grace’s mother. As they waited for the ceremony to begin, guests enjoyed the melodic tunes of Trio by Lisa Ferrigno.
Before long, it was time for the ceremony begin. Two flower girls walked down the aisle, as well as a ring bearer that carried a sign announcing “Here comes the love of your life”. Grace then made her entrance, meeting Bryan at the end of the aisle. The two exchanged vows, all smiles throughout the ceremony, then shared their first kiss as a married couple. After making their exit, they met up for a few more photos with the wedding party, as well as a fun shoot in which they were showered in flower petals.
As guests enjoyed cocktails, the reception space was set beneath a translucent tent. The tables were covered in white linens with burgundy napkins and seat cushions. The centerpieces were a mix of white, red, and pink flowers, arranged by Flowers by Lesley. There were also accents of gold in the table numbers, the chargers, and the cake topper. Speaking of cake, the lovely and simple multi-tiered cake from Sprinkles Custom Cakes held a fun “Best day ever” topper and one large, pink rose. But the desserts didn’t stop there – Grace and Bryan encouraged guests to “treat yo self” to a multitude of cupcakes.
Guests made their way to their seats under the tent, where the bride and groom were introduced for the first time as a married couple. They then heard toasts and speeches, followed by the serving of dinner, catered by Puff N Stuff Catering. What we loved about this reception is that it began outside for dinner, but once it the food was finished, the party actually moved inside for dancing and fun!
Once everyone had moved inside, the DJ from Our DJ Rocks re-introduced the wedding party, as well as the bride and groom. Grace and Bryan then shared their first dance together, followed by touching father-daughter and mother-son dances. The evening flew by in a flash with the cutting of the cake, the bouquet toss, and the garter toss. Guests made sure to take their favors, customized drink koozies, with them as they left for the grand exit.
Grace and Bryan ended their evening with a bubble exit – as they left for their getaway car, the guests blew bubbles, creating a super-cute and fun image. Our newlyweds shared one last kiss, savoring the last moment of their best day ever.
Thank you to Grace and Bryan for choosing us on your special day, and to the venues and vendors that made it so wonderful!
