Our next throwback blog post brings us to May of 2017, to the Luxmore Grande Estate, where Amanda and Derrick held their nautical-inspired, blue and white, classically-styled wedding. This wedding had a lot of fun details, but the greatest part was seeing these two good-hearted people share their love with the world. While the reception was held at the very grand Luxmore Grande Estate, the ceremony was held at the gorgeous St. Stephen’s Church, and the change of location led to quite an exciting and beautiful wedding. Thanks to Cat Lemus Photography for sharing these photos with us so we can share with you!
The day began at the Luxmore, where the men and women got ready in separate rooms. The talented artists at Kristy’s Artistry Design Team did hair and make-up for the women of the wedding. Meanwhile, Derrick presented his groomsmen with their gifts, which included super-fun nautical-themed anchor socks and flasks.
Amanda and Derrick then opted to do a First Look photo shoot in front of the Luxmore, and the absolute love they had for each other showed through every photograph. The two got some fantastic and fun shots with their bridesmaids and groomsmen, and also some more personal, private shots of just the soon-to-be newlyweds.
The ceremony took place at the gorgeous St. Stephen’s Church. Amanda was walked down the aisle by her father, where she met Derrick at the altar. They were married in a traditional Catholic ceremony, exchanged rings, and shared their first kiss as man and wife. The two exited, all smiles, and headed over to the Luxmore to meet their guests for cocktail hour.
The cocktail hour was held on the back patio of the Luxmore, with delicious appetizers by Big City Catering served on trays. As the guests enjoyed themselves outside, the reception area inside was prepared for dinner. Two of the fun details added for the nautical theme were the favors, which were personalized drink koozies, and the card box, which was a boat on beautiful “water”.
The reception hall was beautifully set for dinner, with hanging chandeliers, white floral centerpieces by Oviedo Florist, and fun blue & white striped bows on the candle centerpieces. The dessert table prepared by 4 Rivers Sweet Shop featured birthday cake and double chocolate cupcakes. The cake from Cakes by Design was a fun and glamorous touch, with one layer of gold sparkles and one of simple white, and a gold sparkly “Best Day Ever” cake topper.
At last it was time for the reception to begin, and all the guests took their seats. The DJ led everyone in a fun entrance for the wedding party, having everyone swing their napkins around above their heads as each bridesmaid and groomsman was announced. The grandest entrance was that of Amanda and Derrick, who boogied their way in and transitioned seamlessly into their First Dance. Following touching toasts from the Best Man and Maid of Honor, dinner was served – a delicious catered buffet by Big City Catering featuring beautiful salads and savory truffle mashed potatoes.
Following dinner, the bride shared a dance with her father and the groom with his mother. The party was then turned over to the DJ from Subsonic Event DJs. All the guests danced the night away, signed the guest book, watched Amanda and Derrick cut their sparkly cake, and gathered at the end of the night for a big group photo. The night was concluded with a sparkler exit for the bride and groom as they left for their happily ever after.
