Katie began her day with hair and makeup, opting for a lovely half up-do. She then stepped into her absolutely gorgeous ball gown with a sparkly bodice, with her bridesmaids in flowy teal dresses of different styles. Meanwhile, Chris and his groomsmen got ready separately, playing a bit of pool as they waited.
As guests began to arrive at the venue, they were greeted with lots of fun, welcoming elements. We loved the chalkboard welcome sign with wooden shutters, the wine barrel-inspired guest book, the mason jars full of flowers as aisle decor, and the special potted plant to be used during the ceremony.
The ceremony was lovely – Katie entered with her parents, met Chris at the end of the aisle, and exchanged vows. The two then incorporated a ceremony in which they each added soil to the potted plant, to represent how their love would grow together. They then shared rings and a kiss, and made their way out to take a fun family photo together.
Following the ceremony, Chris and Katie captured some photos with their wedding party and by themselves. We loved the variety of colors and backgrounds they were able to find with the fabulous photographer from That First Moment. Meanwhile, guests raised a glass as they enjoyed the cocktail hour in Mission Inn’s courtyard, and the indoor reception hall was prepared for dinner.
The reception space was full of pops of color, from the floral centerpieces made by Claudia’s Pearl Florist, to the stunning teal bride’s cake made by Cake Designers, to the cheeky and fun groom’s cake made by Party Flavors. The tables were set with teal napkins and a custom gold bottle opener for each guest. At the entrance, a custom gobo provided for a clever lit welcome sign to Chris & Katie’s day. Overall, we loved all the color and personality in the room!
The reception was an absolute blast, full of more fun and smiles. Chris and Katie made their entrance, shared a first dance, and sat down for dinner with their guests. Katie then shared a father-daughter dance, incorporating tossing around a football as a fun and personal touch. Chris followed up with a lovely dance with his mother.
Before the night had ended, Chris and Katie captured a quick private moment in the courtyard, then shared their last dance on the dance floor. They then were sent off with a lovely sparkler exit, and waved goodbye to all their loved ones as they took off on their next journey together.
