For Monica, the day began by getting ready with her bridesmaids and mother. The ladies’ hair was done by MCD Beauty, and makeup was done by Beauty by Sadia. Once everyone was ready, Monica stepped into her beautiful gown, adorned with beautiful beaded detailing. Meanwhile, Evan got ready with his groomsmen and captured a photo with the ring bearer.
Monica and Evan then met for their first look photo shoot. Ashley Jane Photography beautifully captured the moment of joy when our bride and groom first saw one another. They then brought in the rest of the wedding party to take photos together. We loved that Monica’s bridesmaids all wore different styles of dresses, but in the same uniform blue.
The ceremony was set up indoors. As guests arrived, they were able to sign the guestbook, a simple wooden plank. They were reminded that it would be an unplugged ceremony (meaning no phones or cameras!) and then took their seats along the aisles. Certain seats along the aisle had beautiful blue & white floral decor from Violets in Bloom, and at the end of the aisle hung a beautiful chandelier and flowing drapery.
The ceremony began, and Monica was walked down the aisle by her father. She met Evan at the end, and each said their vows, exchanged a ring, and said “I do”. Upon being pronounced husband and wife, they shared a kiss, and walked out of the ceremony with smiles on their faces!
As guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, the venue was transformed for their classic blue & white wedding reception! Everything was simple, clean, and bright – from the white linens, to the simple escort cards, to the bright floral arrangements, to the multi-tiered cake from Everything Cake.
The reception began with Monica and Evan’s entrance, announced by the DJ from White Rose Entertainment. They then shared their first dance, followed by toasts from the matron of honor and best man. Once everyone had enjoyed their dinner, catered by Big City Catering, the bride and groom cut their cake. They then shared a father-daughter and mother-son dance, which began the open dancing.
About halfway through the dancing, the party paused for Evan and Monica to play the popular “shoe game”. The bride and groom each received one of the other’s shoes. The DJ asked then them questions to which the answer was either “the bride” or “the groom” (for example, “who is always late”?). To represent their answer, the bride and groom would lift one of their shoes.
The night then flew by – the bouquet was tossed, the guests danced, and to finish things off, the bride and groom made a grand exit under sparklers.
Congratulations to Evan and Monica, and thank you for choosing us for your classic blue & white wedding day! Thanks to the vendors that make our days so fabulous:
