In September of 2018, we had the absolute joy of bringing Renee and Jon’s movie-themed wedding to life. Renee and John met while working on The Great Movie Ride at Disney World, and we loved how they incorporated that into the theming of their wedding! From the tables themed after some of their favorite films, to the popcorn bar at the reception, there was nonstop film-inspired fun at this wedding. Thanks to Nicole Ami Photography, we’re happy to share their day with you!
The day began with hair and makeup for the ladies, done beautifully by Kristy’s Artistry Design Team. Renee and her bridesmaids all exuded the look of Hollywood glamour, with red lips and soft curls. Once done up, Renee stepped into her gorgeous gown, adorned with shiny embellishments and lace. Meanwhile, John and his groomsmen got dressed in classic black suits. John wore a shiny gold vest, with his groomsmen in deep red.
Renee and John chose to have a traditional Catholic ceremony at church. The two exchanged rings, said their vows, and were pronounced husband and wife! They shared their first married kiss, then took off with the photographer to capture a few moments together around the Orchid Garden.
The reception was a movie lover’s dream! Each guest had an escort card “ticket” that led them to their table. Rather than table numbers, the tables were identified by movie posters for some of the bride and grooms’ favorite films. Along the way to their seats, guests passed by the popcorn bar, as well as an Up! themed guestbook. Guests were invited to sign next to their colored thumbprint to create the balloons on top of the Up! house, an adorable touch. Last but not least, the gorgeous cake from It’s Tasty Too tied in the red & gold color scheme beautifully.
The reception began with the introduction of Renee and John as a married couple, which led into their first dance. They then raised a glass to toasts from loved ones, followed by a delicious dinner served by Puff N Stuff Catering. The cake was cut, and the bride and groom descended to the first floor to share their father-daughter and mother-son dances.
With the formalities done, it was time to party! The guests joined Renee and John on the dance floor and danced the night away, led by the DJ from Celebration Expert. The night culminated in a grand sparkler exit on the patio of the Orchid Garden, and we all bid farewell to Renee and John as they took off on their new adventure!
