Our next wedding feature took place in December of 2017. Christina and Mike held their romantic red and white wedding at the Capen House, with an outdoor ceremony and reception. There were lots of beautiful details of design throughout the event, both rustic and romantic, and we’re happy to share them with you courtesy of J Lebron Photography!
The day began with Christina’s hair and makeup done by Beauty Bullies Style Team. Once their beautiful work was complete, Christina stepped into her gorgeous strapless dress with a rhinestone belt and cascading train. Meanwhile, Mike got dressed in a black suit and tie, with a simple white boutonniere. His boutonniere and Christina’s gorgeous red and white bouquet were arranged by the ever-talented Flowers by Lesley. The two opted not to have a wedding party, keeping their First Look photo shoot intimate between the two of them. They included a fun photo that we loved, holding up their Wedding Countdown Clock to show how close they were.
To guide guests to the outdoor ceremony area, a cute “wedding” sign was hung on the front door, which led them to the wooden “and so our adventure begins” sign in the yard. There the guests discovered the ceremony setup, a beautiful circular brick floor. The ceremony area was decorated with a glass and wooden table, as well as gorgeous floral arrangements from Flowers by Lesley. The ceremony was short and sweet, with only Christina, Mike, and their officiant standing at the altar. The two decided to include a rope ceremony in their vows, with a braided red, gold, and white rope wrapped around their hands to represent the joining of their lives. Once they were pronounced husband and wife, Christina and Mike took a joyful group picture with all of their guests.
As the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the reception area was prepared for dinner. Christina and Mike included lots of beautifully romantic red and white floral arrangements, as well as cool gold geometric decor from Flowers by Lesley. One fun addition these two decided to include was giving out flip-flops to their guests so they could dance the night away without the pain of high heels.
Christina and Mike made their grand entrance into the cocktail hour space, where their guests had been enjoying delicious beverages and appetizers by Arthur’s Catering. Everyone then made their way out to the reception space, took their seats, and joined in on toasts to the bride and groom. Dinner was underscored by a harpist, until it was time for the First Dance and Parent Dances, which were led by the DJ from Our DJ Rocks. The night flew by, full of delicious food, great dancing, and fun & smiles had by all.
