Back in October of 2016, we had the pleasure of taking on Kristina and Alex as a full planning client. This meant we got to work with them through the entire process of wedding planning, helping in every aspect to bring their vision to life. It was a joy to join them on this journey, and we’re so happy to share their celebration with you! Thanks to Jessica Leigh Photography for access to all their fabulous photos.
Kristina went for a classic and beautiful look – she had her hair in soft curls, red lips, and a lacy wedding gown. Alex wore a nice navy suit and tie, with a simple deep purple boutonniere from Flowers by Lesley. The two decided to do a First Look photo shoot before the ceremony, and it was clear to see that these two were full of love and excitement for the day ahead of them.
The first look photo shoot brought these two around the venue, exploring both outdoor and indoor backdrops. Alex and Kristina then met with their wedding party and got a few pictures together. The girls and guys all had fun with their photos, with the men showing their excitement through a bit of goofiness.
The ceremony was held outside, and welcomed guests with a sign that announced it would be unplugged – meaning no phones or cameras, please. We loved the fun idea to replace a traditional guest book with Jenga blocks to be signed. After signing a block, the guests then proceeded to the seating area, decorated with scattered purple and pink flower petals and standing lanterns.
The ceremony itself was short and sweet: Kristina walked down the aisle with her father to meet Alex, and soon enough, the two were pronounced husband and wife. They shared their first kiss and left with huge smiles on their faces.
Following cocktail hour, the guests arrived at the reception space, which was decked out in purple, gold, and white everywhere you looked. The tables, glowing with candles, featured floral centerpieces from Flowers by Lesley, as well as gold chargers. We loved the menus and signage designed by Dogwood Blossom Stationery. The wedding cake from Everything Cake was a sight to see, with flowers cascading down the tiers.
Alex and Kristina made their entrance into the hall and shared their first dance, with music from the Wafer Productions DJ. They then heard moving toasts from the Maid of Honor and Best Man. At last, it was time to enjoy the dinner, a beautiful buffet catered by Renaissance Catering!
After the delicious dinner, Alex and Kristina shared a Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dance. This was the beginning of the real party, with lots of dancing, cake cutting, selfies, and of course, the bouquet and garter tosses. Throughout it all, the happy couple had huge smiles on their faces, and before we knew it, it was time for the last dance of the night.
For their grand exit, we had all of Alex and Kristina’s guests hold lit sparklers on either side of them, and then cheered them off as they left the venue. The two shared a romantic, sweeping kiss, then hopped into their getaway car and waved goodbye. It was time for the next big adventure!
Much thanks and love to Alex and Kristina, we were so glad to be part of your wedding from start to finish. So much gratitude as well to our vendors, who made the day so special:
